Formerly one of the capitols of the Kingdom of Galicia, today Tui forms part of one of the Eurocities of Spain with Portugal. Eating in Tui will be a pleasure. Seafood and fish have become prominent ingredients due to the town's proximity to the ocean. You can also enjoy many bars and restaurants when eating in Tui.What to eat in Tui
The Miño river, which passes through Tui, marks the dividing line between Pontevedra and Portugal and is responsible for the star product of Vigo, meixón. But there are other delights that you can eat in Tui due to its closeness to the sea, which plays an important role in the local seafood and crabs, clams and scallops (among others), which are pervasive in the typical local dishes. In 2014, the Fiesta de la Angula was recovered by an initiative of the restaurant at the Parador de Tui. If your visit coincides with the celebration, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the angulas at a reasonable price, prepared with mollo (a typical spice mixture of the area), oil, and a few thin slices of garlic, served in traditional clay pots.


Tapas
We should note that Tui has recently proliferated the amount of tapas bars and restaurants in the area. At the Tapería Remesal, you’ll be able to enjoy some good tapas in a quiet atmostphere. The mushroom scramble is an excellent choice.At the Bar Monte Aloia, you’ll be able to eat traditional cuisine and order small portions to share. Situated in the Natural Park, the scenery is idyllic. Dogs are also welcome.

Amongst the places to eat in Tui, we highlight the restaurant Cruceiro do Monte, where they offer abundant dishes in a family atmosphere. Seafood is one of their specialties. The mejillones a la vinagreta are delicious.
