Eating in Balsareny
Located in the commercial route of the shore of the river Llobregat, the village of Balsareny is protected by a legendary medieval castle. The gastronomy you will find if you decide to eat in Balsanery will be based in pork meat and earth products. Are you coming to eat in Balsanery with us?
What to eat in Balsareny
Balsanery, a village located in the region of Bagés, has an interesting cultural patrimony with a rich and traditional gastronomy that follows the classic recipes from the interior of Barcelona. The pork meat is very popular in this village, whether it is served as artisan embutidos (sausage), grilled, roasted or served with ingredients such as seasonal mushrooms. In the surroundings of Balsanery it is very common to eat the tupí of sugar coated pork, a traditional method of conservation that uses oil and butter and allows the meat to become tender and tasty for a longer time.

The local restaurants offer menus full of the typical dishes of the Catalan gastronomy, made with ingedients that will charm everyone. Regarding the sweets, the Rocs de Sant Benet are famous in the region. Those chocolates are produced by the Monastery of San Benedicto. To complete the experience, nothing better than a good wine D.O. Pla de Bages or a glass of wine D.O. Cataluña.

Tapas
If you want to eat tapas in Balsanery we recommend El Boter, an Irish place. This is the village with the highest number of sports harbors in Spain. If you want to eat in Sitges, fish and seafood are the protagonists, along with other traditional recipes and quality products. Are you coming with us?
What to eat in Sitges
Sitges is one of the most touristic villages of the Catalan coast. Its gastronomy is a reflection of the essence of the municipality, where the culinary tradition of the Mediterranean is mixed with more innovative and contemporary techniques. When eating in Sitges, between the options of local restaurants we can find all kinds of fish and seafood, as well as stews, suquets and rice. Regarding the last one, the most popular is the rice a la Sitgetana, an ancient recipe that mixes ingredients from the sea and the mountains.

If there is a dish that is representative of the gastronomy of Sitges, that is the Xató. This is a sauce made of almonds, hazelnuts, tomato, bread center, oil, vinegar, salt and ñora (a type of pepper) that is mixed in a salad of tuna, anchovies, boquerones and escarole. This is a common dish when eating in Sitges, but it is also typical of other Catalan regions. It is so appreciated in Sitges that every January 13th, the celebration of the International Day of the Xató takes place. There are many local wineries that produce cava and wines with D.O. such as the Catalunya and the Penedès. A walk around the natural park of El Garraf can be the perfect ending for a visit to Sitges.

Tapas
Eating tapas in Sitges is a great option thanks to the work of many excellent places such as El donostiarra, a restaurant that has a huge pinchos counter with a lot of variety; and El Cable, a classic of the area that serves tapas, pinchos and appetizers.

Eating in Montjuic
This mountain range of sandy stone, which from its 183 meters above sea has been a witness of the history of Barcelona, is full of green areas, museums, cultural attractions and sports installations. Also, talking about gastronomy, we can choose between many different charming bars and restaurants to eat in Montjuic.
What to eat in Montjuic
There is a lot to eat in Montjuic, the famous mountain of Barcelona. Throughout its history, it has been a cemetery, castle, watchtower, quarry, amusement park and base of the Olympic equipments. The Poble Sec is located right under it, a broad region that goes until the Avenida del Paralelo, in the north. As this is a residential zone, many bars and restaurants of great quality are also present in the neighborhood. There you can enjoy a wide gastronomy offer made for all publics and based in traditional products such as the Pa de Pagès Catlà, the Salchichón de Vic (sausage), both with I.G.P., and the Mongeta dek Ganxet, with D.O.P.

The proximity to the old harbor in one of its extremities is another advantage of eating in Montjuic. And as we get close to the other extremity, direction Plaza España, the restaurants, bars and terraces start to get touches of the cuisine of the center of Barcelona. The whole Avenida del Paralelo is the center of the gastronomic activity of the neighborhood. You can complete you experience when eating in Montjuic with some of the wine products of the region, such as the wines with D.O. Alella, Cataluña and Pla de Bages and the famous Cava with D.O..

Tapas
If you are looking forward to eating tapas, this part of the city has good bats that, generally, are concentrated on the Poble Sec streets. Quimet & Quimet is a very popular bar not only between people who live in the region, but in the whole town. They serve gourmet products. In Gran Bodega Saltó clients can enjoy great tapas and portions apart from live music. Bali Tonight is a classic tavern with a broad selection of excellent tapas in its counter. These three places are some of the best options in Montjuic.

Bar Quimet & Quimet

Gran Bodega Saltó

A la carte
It is possible to find a great number of good places to eat in Montjuic. Espai Kru is an original place that has a menu composed of two parts: the first half offers products that are cooked without fire (Carpaccios, tartar, etc...) and the second one offers the same products, but cooked in a traditional way.

A place to have in mind when eating in Montjuic is Palo Cortao, a restaurant that pays a lot of attention to its products. They have an attractive and varied menu that uses fresh ingredients that are produced regionally. Fish, meat, seafood and dishes to share are the most common here.

Located in the center of a special place, in the gardens of Laribal, La Font del Gat is a restaurant that offers traditional and modern food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Regarding the gastronomy, if you decide to eat in Manresa you will be able to enjoy many local and quality products.
What to eat in Manresa
Manresa is the capital of Bages, a place where the gastronomy is linked to the earth, the agriculture and the ranching, apart from the artisan elaboration of many different products such as cheese, wine and honey. The waters of the popular Acequia enable the existence of many fertile vegetable gardens that produce vegetables, fruits, legumes and cereals.

The most common ranching is the pork and the cow. But we must not forget about the sheep, especially about the type Ripollesa, a local breed that has a delicious meat. With all of these ingredients, the cuisine from Manresa has many classic recipes with some contemporary propositions and innovative touches. A very popular dish is the cod a la Manresana, which is prepared with alioli sauce, apple purée and egg yolk. In Manresa you will find some fabulous wines, like the Pla de Bages and the Catalunya.

Tapas
If you want to eat tapas in Manresa we recommend the restaurant Las Vegas, where you are going to be able to order something in the counter or in the dining room. Apart from being a village that is full of history, eating in La Garriga is the perfect opportunity to try some quality products, such as legumes and vegetables.
What to eat in La Garriga
Famous due to its hot springs, La Garriga was an important center of summer vacations for the rich Catalan society during the 19th and 20th Centuries. Nowadays, apart from preserving the touristic component, they also have a great gastronomy. La Garriga is one of the most fertile regions of Catalonia, and apart from their vegetable gardens, the production of cheese, honey and wine is also abundant. Between the legumes that are produced here, the Mongeta del Ganxet, with D.O.P., is specially used in many different stews. This bean can be cooked with butifarra, one of the most popular embutidos (sausage) of the region - something that can be seen during the celebration made in its honor that happens each month of February.

Complete with meal with a delicious Pa de Pagès, with I.G.P.., perfect for the traditional dishes. Another classic of the region is the Cap i pota, an offal shop stew made with calf head. In the local restaurants, visitors will be able to find some other typical recipes such as meat stews with mushrooms and rice.

Tapas
In Bermutegi you will be surprised by the variety of pinchos and tapas, as this is the perfect place to eat in La Garriga and to have a glass of vermouth at. They have great ham and a quick service.

The bar Jovi offers tasty salads that are made with numerous quality ingredients. They are also famous by their pinchos counter. The menu is based on traditional recipes.

The restaurant Castell de Rosanes offers a Japanese food menu and has a special ambiance, specially due to its nocturnal illumination. A chill out country house with a modern terrace inside of the walls of a fairytale castle.

If it is summer and you want to refresh yourself we suggest La Cabanya, that has an interior pool.

Eating in El Raval
The small streets of El Raval where the stage of the people and ambiances with the worst reputation in town, something that inspired many local writers. In this quarter we will taste a delicious gastronomy, giving special attention to the tapas - something that you must order if you are in El Raval.
What to eat in El Raval
Since the end of the 20th Century, the neighborhood of Raval presents a completely different image from the one that, because of being the most sordid part of the town, made people start calling it "The Chinese Quarter". Nowadays, this quarter is one of the regions with more personality in Barcelona, and has some of the most important cultural places of the city, If there is anything about the old neighborhood, that was immortalized by writers such as Vázquez Moltalbán, that is still alive those are the small streets and the numerous bars and restaurants of the quarter.

When eating in El Raval, the variety of cultures that can be seen in its streets is also present in the gastronomy offer that people can find in some of the best restaurants and bars of Barcelona. From classic tapas bars where you can spend the "vermouth hour" at, to restaurants that serve international, Catalan and market food, many places serve native products such as the Pa de Pagès Català, the Salchichón de Vic (sausage) - both with I.G.P. - and the Mongeta del Ganxet with D.O.P.. The Ramblas are located in one of the extremities of the neighborhood, a place where we can find the famous market de la Boquería, one of the most popular in Barcelona and the place where many restaurants buy their products at.

Lastly, and to complete the gastronomic experience of El Raval, you should try some of the wine products of the region, such as the wines D.O. Alella, Cataluna and Pla de Bages, or the famous Cava with D.O.. The popular celebration of Sant Jordi can be a great option to get to know everything there is to eat in El Raval.

Tapas
Tapas are a popular option of things to eat in El Raval thanks to the big quantity of specialized bars that are in the neighborhood. This is a place with a long professional career, that has always used market products to cook a traditional and homemade food that never leaves behing the most modern techniques, even if it never forgets about the Catalan and Mediterranean traditions.

Restaurante Portic Boquería

Restaurante Cera 23

Restaurante Arùme

Eating in Igualada
Close to the river Anoia, Igualada has been a village of drivers and millers for about a thousand years. This town was also home of the workers of the leather industry since the 17th Century. Come to Igualada and try the variety of the Catalan gastronomy in its bars and restaurants. Let's go!
What to eat in Igualada
Igualada is located in a region with a strong agriculture tradition. This is the reason why one of the most popular products here is the Garbanzo del Alto Anoia (chickpea), a native variety known for tits taste and small size, apart from the Mongeta del Ganxet (with D.O.P.). With it, many different stews are made, which are usually served with legumes and meat. The ranching is very common in this region of Igualada, specially the pork one. This is why the confitado pork is one of the specialties (canned) of the village. Potatoes and the variety of different embutidos (sausage), such as the Salchichón de Vic with I.G.P., are other great local products.

Igualada is a place where sweets have a special importance. Enjoy these recipes with a delicious Pa de Pagès Català, a product with I.G.P., which is common in the region. Apart from the production of the classic carquiñoles, the Coca de Igualada and the Caramelos de Patufuet are also famous here. The first one is a sugary coca covered with almonds and filled with cream or truffle. The caramelos are wrapped with a paper that has a drawing of the Patufet, a popular character in Cataluña.

To complete this gastronomic experience, don't forget to try the broad offer of wine products with D.O. that the city offers: Alella, Catalunya and Pla de Bagez; or the famous Cava with D.O..

Tapas
There's not a lot of tapas places to go to in Igualada, reason why we suggest you to go to our "A la carte section" to find some of the best restaurants in town.
A la carte
If you want to eat in Igualada you should try the restaurant El Jardí, which has a daily menu and different dishes according to the season. They offer quality food and fish is their specialty.

In Exquisit you will be able to eat in Igualada great dishes with an excellent presentation. They also have a daily menu that is very economic. Delicious caldoso rice with seafood and cod and great homemade desserts.

Another restaurant you could go to in Igualada is the Racó de Traginer, where you will literally eat inside of a wine barrel. Amazing decoration! We love their grilled meat and the wine menu.

In Vinnari some delicious pork hands with foie are cooked, they offer a daily menu and filling portions alond with an elaborated selection of dishes.

Restaurante Racó del Traginer

Restaurante El Jardí

Restaurante Exquisit

Eating in Gracia
The neighborhood of Gracia, in the north of Barcelona, unifies the charm of traditions with the freshness of modernity. The small streets, full of bars, restaurants and shops are full of live. We invite you to enjoy Gracia and try a Catalan gastronomy based in different flavors.
What to eat in Gracia
The neighborhood of Gracia is one of the places with more personality of Barcelona. This maze of small streets and squares holds an amazing urban life thanks to the presence of the most modern and traditional of the town in one single place. This has always been a bohemian quarter, artsy and plural, and its caracteristics can be seen in the great restaurant offer that combines the Catalan gastronomy (with D.O.P. products such as the Mongeta del Ganxet), market products and more exotic propositions, also very popular when eating in Gracia.

This neighborhood is the home of the Abacería Central and the Libertad markets, two places that provide products to the local restaurants. Everything they sell always has a great quality, and it is the inspiration of any dish you can eat in Gracia. The ambiance and the life of the streets are translated into a variety of bars, restaurants and different locals. The center of the activity of the neigborhood are the squares, where the terraces become meeting points around some tapas and beers.

During the month of August many celebrations take place here. They are the perfect occasion to get to know the best of the neighboorhod and everything there is to eat in Gracia.

Tapas
This is a perfect quarter for the tapeo, so if you are looking for tapas in Gracia you will find many different establishments on the small streets. One of our favorite places is La Pepita, one of the most famous bars in Gracia; Lo Pinyol, a traditional pub that offers good tapas and vermouth; and Sol Soler, another establishment of great reputation in Gracia where you can order some great and varied tapas: paella, patatas bravas, chicken wings...

Sol Soler

Lo Pinyol

La Pepita

A la carte
There are a lot of different options of places to eat in Gracia. The restaurant Con Gracia is a very popular place in this region thanks to an attractive and quality menu that is based on the Catalan traditions with some touches of other cuisines.

Another good restaurant you should try is Felice, a Holand place that also serves Catalan food. Great service and a excellent dishes.

In the restaurant Santa Gula a seasonal menu is offered to clients, and it is occasionaly switched following the arrival of the seasonal ingredients. The restaurant serves a Mediterranean cuisine, but it is also possible to find dishes of other styles. Our favorite is the crunchy shrimps with fresh cheese.

Something similar happens in Somodó, a restaurant that is very popular in Gracia thanks to its Mediterranean style that is mixed with Oriental cuisines, specially the Japanese one.

Another great place to go to is Roig Robí, a restaurant that has won many different awards. This establishment has been serving traditional dishes for several years, always with the best products that are brought from different parts of Catalonia and the rest of Spain.

Restaurante Santa Gula

Restaurante Felice

Restaurante Con Gracia

Eating in El Eixample
Built during the 19th Century by Ildefondo Cerdà, its reticular streets are home to the main gems of the Catalan Modernism, such as La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, both designed by Antonio Gaudí. Regarding the gastronomy, eating in El Eixample allows the visitors to taste great pinchos and quality dishes.
What to eat in El Eixample
Born with the urban restructuring of the end of the 19th Century made with the Plan Cerdà, this neighborhood from Barcelona not only increased the size of the city to the surrounding of the medieval walls, but it was also the creation of a cosmopolitan rich neighborhood, heart of the Modernist movement lead by Gaudí. Nowadays it is still one of the busiest regions f the city, and its intense street life can be seen through its bars and cafes.

When eating in El Eixample, there are many restaurants with a great reputation to go to - places of great quality that are frequented by rich clients. But there's also many other simple places that, without diminishing the quality of the final result, offer cheaper menus to a more varied clientele. From contemporary propositions (with products such as de Pa de Pagès Català and the Salchichón de Vic (sausage) with D.O.P., and the Mongeta del Ganxet with D.O.P.) to tapeo places, along with cafes and terraces where you can have a drink. the gastronomic offer of El Eixample is always attractive, varied and of a great quality. The wine products of the region, such as the wine D.O Alella, D.O. Cataluña and D.O.

Eating in Castelldefels
Located in the region of the low Llobregat and protected by the Garraf mountain range, Castelldefels is a traditional place for tourists during summer thanks to its beaches and its historical fortress. Regarding the gastronomy, eating in Castelldefels is a synonym of fish, seafood and a lot of rice. Even if these are not your favorite dishes, you should not worry, as the offer is very broad.
What to eat in Castelldefels
Castelldefels is one of the main touristic destinations of the coast of Barcelona. Located on a few kilometers away from the capital, the gastronomy is known for offering the visitors a broad variety of products, recipes and settings that go from the restaurants at the beach to the classical restaurants in the center of the town. The sea offers fish and seafood, which is the base of many dishes such as the rice and suquets - popular in the Catalan coast and, of course, in Casteldefels.

Between the meats, the chicken pota blava (blue leg) is very famous. This local breed is highly appreciated during the Christmas celebrations. Some other things that are common when eating in Castelldefels are the traditional snails, cocas and escalibadas. To complete this experience, nothing better than a glass of cava, produced regionally. Legumes and vegetables such as the famous Tomato Rosa del Cardener are the base of a cuisine related to the ancient country side livestyle.

The strong argriculture tradition is present in the typical recipes, apart from other specialties such as the snails, grilled meat and the artisan embutidos (sausage). The seasonal mushrooms are also very present in every kitchen, and one of the most popular ones is the llanera. To drink, nothing better than a cup of wine D.O. Pla de Bages, D.O. Eating in Berga means enjoying a gastronomy with a lot of personality, where you have to try the artisan embutidos (sausage). There's not a lot of bars and restaurants, but the few ones will be enough to make you fall in love for the Catalan cuisine.
What to eat in Berga
Berga has a cuisine with a lot of personality and quality thanks to the ingredients, which come from the local agriculture and ranching. Their vegetable garden produces products such as the black peas and the blat de moro escairat, a type of local corn that has been cultivated since the 18th Century. With this products some typical dishes are prepared, such as the enmascaradas potatoes, cocked with black butifarra.

The embutidos, as well as the cheese and the honey, are the main products of the artisan gastronomy.
